The Company
Carimali has built professional coffee machines since 1919, when Angelo Carimali founded the company in Milan. Today it designs and manufactures in Chignolo d'Isola, just outside Bergamo, as part of the VEA Group — producing both traditional espresso machines and fully automatic bean-to-cup systems for cafés, hotels and restaurants worldwide.
That dual expertise shows in its traditional range. The same thinking that drives Carimali's automatic machines — repeatability, low operator effort, easy maintenance — is built into machines like the Glow, where the electronics take care of the routine so your barista can focus on the cup.
The Product
The Carimali Glow Espresso Machine is a traditional, fully automatic (volumetric) commercial espresso machine, available in 1, 2 and 3 group configurations with high groups across the range. "Automatic" here means volumetric: your barista grinds, doses and tamps, and the machine stops every shot at the exact volume you've programmed.
Carimali built the Glow around two priorities — robustness and value. A heat-exchanger boiler with thermosyphon circulation keeps brew temperature stable and maintenance simple, while digital temperature control, programmable electronic pre-infusion and an automatic washing cycle put a level of control on the counter that usually costs considerably more. All of it sits in a full-metal body with wooden handles and side accents, LED-lit and finished in black or white.
The result is a machine that takes the guesswork out of service — the shot your opening barista pulls at 7am matches the one your weekend casual pulls at 2pm.
Key Features
Heat Exchanger with Thermosyphon Circulation (Temperature Stability)
Each group draws fresh brew water through a heat exchanger inside the steam boiler, while water circulates continuously between boiler and group head by natural convection. You get steam and brew water from a single boiler, stable group temperatures through a busy rush, and a simpler system to service than a multi-boiler machine.
Digital Temperature Control (Precise Adjustment)
Boiler temperature is set and monitored through the alphanumeric display, backed by analogue gauges for pump and boiler pressure. Adjusting for a lighter or darker roast becomes a menu change — not a technician call-out.
Electronic Pre-Infusion (Better Extraction)
Programme both the volume of water and the length of the pre-infusion phase. Wetting the puck evenly before full pressure reduces channelling, which pays off with lighter roasts and on days when tamping isn't perfect.
Volumetric Keypads on Every Group (Consistent Output)
Each group has its own illuminated five-button keypad with four programmable volumetric doses. Set your single, double and specialty recipes once, and every barista on every shift delivers the same yield at the press of a button.
High Groups (Taller Cup Clearance)
Every Glow is built with high groups, giving you more clearance under the spouts. Brew straight into takeaway cups and tall glasses — no decanting from a shot glass, no extra step in the queue.
Cool-Touch Steam Wands (Barista Safety)
Insulated steam wands stay cool to the touch, protecting your team's hands during back-to-back milk drinks and making the wands easier to wipe down between jugs.
Electronic Washing Cycle (Easier Maintenance)
An automated cleaning cycle handles the group backflush for you. Closing-time cleaning becomes quick and consistent — and a clean group is the cheapest way to protect both flavour and component life.
Full-Metal Body, Wood Accents and LED Lighting (Front-of-House Presence)
A sturdy metal chassis stands up to commercial use, wooden portafilter handles and side panels add warmth, and LED lighting illuminates your work area. The rear panel is finished as carefully as the front, so the Glow looks the part on an island counter or an open-plan bar.
Who It's Built For
The Glow is built for operators who need commercial reliability and consistent coffee without paying flagship prices — and who can't count on having a senior barista behind the machine every hour of the day.
The first café or kiosk. You need a machine that's dependable, easy to train new staff on, and doesn't consume your whole fit-out budget. Volumetric dosing and digital temperature control give a small team café-standard results from day one.
Restaurants, hotels and guesthouses. Coffee isn't your core offering, but it's the last thing your guests taste. Programmed doses mean waitstaff and rotating shifts serve the same espresso a dedicated barista would, and the automatic washing cycle keeps the machine in shape with minimal effort.
Growing cafés and second sites. If you've outgrown your first machine or you're opening another location, the 2 and 3 group Glow give you the boiler capacity and group count to keep the queue moving, with consistent recipes you can replicate across sites.
As a guide: the 1 group suits light service of up to around 100 drinks a day; the 2 group is the workhorse for most cafés, comfortably handling up to around 250; and the 3 group is built for high-volume venues running two or more baristas at peak.
Choosing Between Versions
1 Group — the compact option at 450 mm wide, with a 5.5 L boiler and 1650 W draw. Ideal for kiosks, restaurants, offices and low-volume coffee corners. It has no cup warmer or boiler insulation, which keeps the footprint and price down.
2 Group — the most versatile configuration. An insulated 11 L boiler and 3150 W element deliver steam recovery for a steady café trade, and a heated cup warmer keeps your cups at serving temperature.
3 Group — a 1 m wide machine with an insulated 14 L boiler and 4150 W element, built for high-traffic venues where multiple baristas work the machine at once without waiting on steam.

Buying and Installation Notes
Water. Every Glow is plumbed directly into your mains water supply and needs a drain point. A water softener (8 L or 12 L, depending on your volume and water hardness) protects the boiler from scale — speak to us about the right size for your area.
Electrical. All three versions run on standard single-phase 220–240 V — no three-phase supply required. The 1 group draws 1650 W; the 2 and 3 group models draw considerably more and should be on a dedicated circuit. Have your electrician confirm your supply before installation.
Space. Allow for a 552 mm deep footprint plus clearance behind for water and power connections, and a counter rated for the machine's weight — up to 90 kg on the 3 group. Contact us to arrange installation in your area.
Summary
