About Gaggia
Achille Gaggia founded Gaggia in Milan in 1930, chasing one goal: the perfect cup of espresso. Today the brand spans everything from affordable entry machines through to higher-end and bean-to-cup equipment — and the Classic line has carried the Gaggia name into more first kitchens than any other model range.
The Product
The Gaggia Classic Pro is the same accessible, semi-automatic entry point as the standard Gaggia Classic, with one meaningful upgrade: a proper commercial steam wand in place of the original's panarello wand. That single change makes a real difference to milk texturing — the commercial wand gives you finer control and better microfoam than the panarello design ever could, without adding significant cost or complexity.
Everything else that makes the Classic a trusted first "real" espresso machine carries through: a 15-bar pump, brushed stainless steel body, chrome-plated brass portafilter, and a rapid-heating aluminium boiler that gets you brewing quickly. Buna Coffee is also a registered agent for OPV spring fitting, so if you'd like the stock pressure reduced from 12 bar to 9 bar for a more balanced extraction, we can do that for you without affecting your warranty.
About the Product Line: Classic vs Classic Pro vs Classic Evo Pro
Gaggia's Classic range has three tiers. The original Classic uses a panarello steam wand; the Classic Pro upgrades to a commercial steam wand for better milk texturing; the Classic Evo Pro goes further still, upgrading the portafilter to stainless steel, adding brass lining inside the group head for better temperature stability, and applying an improved boiler coating to reduce limescale build-up over time. If milk texturing is your main reason for stepping up from the base Classic, the Pro covers that; if you also want the internal material upgrades, look at the Evo Pro.
Key Features
Commercial steam wand — A genuine upgrade over the panarello wand, giving finer control over milk texture and microfoam.
15-bar pump — Full espresso extraction pressure, not a watered-down approximation.
Rapid-heating aluminium boiler — Ready to brew quickly rather than leaving you waiting each morning.
OPV spring fitting available — Buna Coffee can reduce stock pressure from 12 to 9 bar on request, without voiding your warranty.
Why Choose This Product
The Classic Pro is for the home user who's decided milk drinks matter — lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites — and wants a proper steam wand to make them well, without jumping straight to the Evo Pro's material upgrades. It's an easy, low-risk step up from the base Classic if microfoam quality is your main frustration.
