The Company

 

Modbar started with two bandmates in a basement. In the early 2000s, Corey Waldron — guitarist by night, barista and roaster by day — kept thinking about the disconnect between the craft going into a drink and what the customer actually saw: a big countertop machine blocking the view. Combined with bassist Aric Forbing's experience as a machine pattern engineer, that frustration became a genuinely new way to build an espresso machine, with the inner workings moved entirely under the counter. La Marzocco was an early investor from Modbar's first showing in 2007, and has taken an increasingly active role since 2016 — today Modbar and La Marzocco work closely together across sales, service, marketing, and manufacturing, and Modbar's espresso systems are built on R&D shared directly with the Linea PB and Linea Mini.

 

The Product

 

Pour Over lets you expand your by-the-cup filter menu — and your margins — without needing a barista standing over a kettle for every single order. Brew entirely by hand using one of the two included spray tips when you want full manual control, or teach the machine up to 25 different recipes accessible at the touch of a button when consistency and speed matter more than a manual pour for every cup.

Store up to 10 volume- and time-based recipes directly on the unit, and adjust flow rate to match your specific brew method and extraction preferences — a V60 profile doesn't need to behave like a Chemex profile, and Pour Over lets you keep both dialled in separately. Dual boilers with 2-zone PID temperature control keep water temperature exactly where your recipe calls for it, and the chromed lab-mount tap keeps the above-counter footprint minimalist. Each tap connects to one stereo-sized under-counter module with water and communications cables, positioned for easy access to program recipes, adjust flow, and service the gear.

Manual pour-over when you want it, programmed precision when you don't — Pour Over expands your filter menu without expanding your labour cost.
