AeroPress began in 1984 as Aerobie, Inc., founded by Stanford engineering lecturer Alan Adler — the same inventor behind the record-setting Aerobie flying ring. Adler turned his engineering mind to coffee in 2004, and the AeroPress launched in 2005 to become one of the most-loved manual brewers in the world.
The Flow Control Filter Cap replaces your AeroPress's standard cap and gives you control over drip-through, so you can extend brew time and use a coarser, more forgiving grind. Paired with a paper filter and a dark roast, the pressure it builds pulls out an espresso-style crema.
It works with either the stainless steel filter or paper micro-filters (both sold separately), so you can experiment with different flavour profiles from the same brewer. It fits the AeroPress Original, Go and Clear — though it's not recommended on Original units made before 2014, where a change in materials can affect the fit.
