AeroPress began in 1984 as Aerobie, Inc., founded by Stanford engineering lecturer Alan Adler — the same inventor behind the record-setting Aerobie flying ring. Adler turned his engineering mind to coffee in 2004, and the AeroPress launched in 2005 to become one of the most-loved manual brewers in the world.
The Stainless Steel Filter is AeroPress's reusable alternative to paper — a fine metal mesh disc that keeps grounds out while letting more of the coffee's natural oils and body through, for a fuller cup than a paper filter allows. It rinses clean under the tap or goes straight into the dishwasher, so there's no ongoing paper cost.
It fits the AeroPress Original, Clear and Go. It does not fit the AeroPress XL.
