About Gaggia Classic Pro Ultimate Modded Edition (PID & OPV)

Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) is a control loop feedback mechanism widely used in industrial control systems and other applications requiring continuously modulated control. It is a type of control system that uses feedback to continuously adjust the output of a process or system to match a desired set point. PID controllers are widely used in a variety of applications, including temperature control, flow control, and motor control, due to the PID's ability to provide stable and accurate control with relatively simple implementation

The PID in the Gaggia Classic Pro allows you to manage the temperature as you desire. Need a lower temperature to extract better flavour from your dark roasted coffee, or a higher temperature for light roasts, then this mod is the perfect fit!

Over Pressure Valve (OPV) is a valve in an espresso machine that allows excess pressure to be released.

Typically with vibration pumps (as in the case with the Gaggia), the pressure can be quite high. This valve allows you to release that pressure and brew coffee at 9 bar, which is the more common and industry standard pressure at which we brew coffee.
