About the Brand
Saeco was founded in 1981 in Gaggio Montano, Italy, by Sergio Zappella and Arthur Schmed, and within four years the company had launched the Superautomatica — the world's first fully automatic espresso machine for home use. That same instinct, automating genuine Italian espresso technique rather than diluting it, still defines the brand.
Saeco machines are now a fixture in offices, hotels, and hospitality venues worldwide, valued for consistent, barista-style results with minimal daily intervention.
The Product
The Saeco Royal Series takes a familiar commercial silhouette and updates it with a capacitive touch display and current automation, built for offices, small hospitality venues, and professional environments that need a compact all-rounder rather than a full café machine.
Choosing Between Royal OTC, Royal Plus and Royal Black
All three share the same chassis, grinder, and brewing unit — the difference is entirely in how milk is handled. The Royal OTC (One Touch Cappuccino) is the flagship: its integrated automatic milk frother makes cappuccinos and latte macchiatos in one touch. The Royal Plus swaps the automatic frother for an independent steam wand, for staff or customers who prefer to texture milk by hand. The Royal Black drops milk handling altogether and focuses purely on espresso, coffee, and hot water for sites that only need black coffee done well.
Key Features
Removable Brewing Unit (Simple Cleaning and Maintenance)
The brewing unit lifts out for cleaning without tools, keeping the machine hygienic with minimal daily effort.
Steel Conical Burr Grinder (Consistent, Adjustable Grind)
An 8-level manual grinder adjustment lets you dial in strength (6–10 g dose) and grind size to suit your beans.
Capacitive Touch Display (Straightforward Operation)
A graphic display with photo-realistic icons and text messages keeps day-to-day operation intuitive for staff and customers alike.
Adjustable Dispenser Height (75–160 mm Cup Range)
The dispenser adjusts to fit anything from an espresso cup to a tall takeaway cup.
Independent Hot Water Nozzle (Tea and Other Beverages)
A separate hot water outlet covers tea and other hot drinks without competing with the coffee circuit.
Bluetooth-Ready Connectivity (Remote Management)
Pre-engineered for Saeco Pro.Up, so the machine is ready for remote monitoring and management if you need it.
Who It's Built For
The Royal Series suits offices, small hospitality venues, and professional environments that want a compact, reliable bean-to-cup machine without the footprint or cost of a full commercial line. Pick OTC for one-touch milk drinks, Plus for hands-on milk texturing, or Black for a streamlined espresso-and-filter setup.
Three ways to serve coffee, one dependable chassis underneath — choose the milk system that matches how your site actually serves coffee.
