The Company
Astoria has built espresso machines in Italy since 1969, earning its reputation on robust construction and long-term reliability. Cafés, hotels, and professional environments worldwide run Astoria machines for their dependable, consistent output.
The Product
The Greta solves a specific problem: fitting genuine commercial espresso into a space that was never designed for a full-size machine. It runs the same category of internals you'd find in Astoria's larger models — commercial thermosyphon circulation, a single boiler built for stable temperature — but housed in a footprint of just 395mm wide, narrow enough for a reception desk, a small kitchen pass, or a corner counter that a 2-group machine simply wouldn't fit.
Four programmable buttons handle automatic volumetric dosing, so whoever's on shift — receptionist, part-time barista, the owner covering a gap — pulls the same shot every time without needing training on manual timing. The illuminated workspace and raised group make it easier to see what you're doing under a portafilter, a small detail that matters more than it sounds like when you're working a tight counter without much overhead light.
Small footprint, commercial standard — the Greta proves compact doesn't mean compromised.
Who It's Built For
For the guesthouse, boutique office, or small café where the counter space simply isn't there for a 2-group machine, but instant coffee or a pod machine isn't good enough for the experience you want to offer. It's built for volumes up to roughly 50 cups a day — enough for a busy breakfast service or a steady trickle of office coffees, without the wasted capacity (and wasted spend) of a bigger machine sitting mostly idle.
It also suits an owner-operator who's often the only person behind the machine and wants the programmable dosing to protect consistency even when they're rushed, distracted, or training someone new.

Summary
The Greta fits where a full commercial machine physically can't, without giving up the volumetric dosing and thermosyphon stability that make espresso repeatable — the right call when space is the constraint, not ambition.
