Conti was founded in Paris in 1950 by M. Siksik, combining a passion for espresso with engineering, and relocated to Monaco in 1956. The brand was an early adopter of volumetric technology in the 1970s, and has since tripled its production volume to become a recognised name in the global espresso machine business.
The Ace's multi-boiler, triple heat zone system is what separates it from a typical single-group prosumer machine — rather than one boiler trying to serve both brewing and steaming demands, each zone is managed independently, which shows up as tighter, more repeatable brew temperatures shot after shot rather than the slow drift you get when one boiler is doing double duty. Soft pre-infusion mimics the gentle build-up of pressure you'd get from a manual lever machine, giving the puck a moment to saturate evenly before full pressure hits — the kind of detail that shows up in the cup as fewer channelling issues and more even extraction, particularly with lighter roasts that are less forgiving of a rough start.
At 2.75L for the steam boiler and 0.9L for the coffee boiler, there's enough reserve capacity for a genuine back-to-back milk drink run without falling behind, but the power draw stays within reach of a standard domestic circuit — 2,900W split across both boilers — so you're not necessarily needing an electrician before installation. Ten colour options and competition-grade shower plates round it out as a machine that looks the part on a home counter or a small venue bar, not just a scaled-down commercial unit in disguise.
Compact enough for a small venue, precise enough for a serious home barista — the Ace doesn't compromise on either.
For the home barista who's outgrown an entry-level prosumer machine and wants genuine triple heat zone temperature control and lever-style pre-infusion, but isn't ready — or doesn't have the space or budget — for a full dual-boiler commercial rig. It's equally suited to a small venue: a boutique guesthouse breakfast bar, a wine tasting room adding coffee, a deli counter — anywhere the volume sits around 80 to 100 cups a day, past what a domestic machine can sustain but well short of needing a 2-group commercial unit.
The colour customisation matters here too — for a small venue where the machine sits in full view of customers, being able to match it to your interior rather than settling for stainless steel is a real, if understated, selling point.
