About Slayer
Slayer has been designing and hand-assembling professional espresso machines in Seattle since 2007. Where the original Slayer Espresso earned its reputation on manual flow control, the Steam EP was built to answer a different question entirely — how do you bring Slayer-level engineering to a bar that needs speed and consistency above all else? It went on to win "Best New Product" from World of Coffee for exactly that reason.
The Product
The Steam EP was designed specifically for high-volume workflow — a push-button, volumetric machine that doesn't ask your barista team to manage flow profiles on every shot. Despite that underlying sophistication, it's genuinely intuitive to operate and straightforward to maintain, which matters when you're running staff through a fast-paced bar rather than training baristas in manual technique.
Two-button volumetric activation gives you four programmable settings per group, with programmable pre-wetting from 0–4 seconds per setting. A centralised Barista Dashboard puts the information your team needs directly in view, and password-protected menus keep dosing settings from being accidentally changed mid-shift. It's a machine built to disappear into a busy service — doing its job without demanding attention.
About the Slayer Range
The Steam EP sits alongside the Slayer Espresso as the other half of Slayer's commercial range. Where the Espresso rewards hands-on flow profiling, the Steam EP is engineered for consistent, high-throughput service — the choice for operators who need the same build quality and reliability but without the manual profiling workflow.
Key Features
Volumetric push-button activation — Four programmable settings per group with a two-button interface, removing guesswork from dosing.
Programmable pre-wetting — 0–4 seconds per setting, four settings per group, dialled in once and left to run.
Centralised Barista Dashboard — Key information visible at a glance, with password-protected menus to prevent accidental changes during service.
PID-controlled independent brew tanks — Temperature stability maintained per group even under sustained peak-hour load.
Soft-touch steam actuators — Reduce wear on high-turnover stations where steam wands are in near-constant use.
Choosing Between Versions
Available in 2 Group and 3 Group configurations. The 2 Group suits a busy independent café; the 3 Group is built for locations running continuous peak-hour volume with several baristas working simultaneously. Base your choice on genuine throughput and headcount at the bar, not aspiration — this machine is engineered around real high-volume service.
Why Choose This Product
The Steam EP is for the operator who needs Slayer-level build quality and consistency without asking every barista to manually profile every shot. If your bar is running through queues fast enough that manual flow control would slow the line down, this is the machine that keeps quality high while keeping service moving. For a bar built around hands-on flavour profiling instead, the Slayer Espresso is the better match.

Buying and Installation Notes
Confirm whether your site has single or three-phase power available, as both models can run on either but amperage requirements differ meaningfully. Given the weight and duty cycle, plan for direct plumbing into your water supply and drain, and confirm counter support can handle the machine's mass.
