The Kalita Wave is a flat-bottom pour-over dripper paired with Kalita's own pleated wave filter paper, which sits away from the dripper wall to let water flow evenly across the whole coffee bed. It's built to reward a steady pour rather than a perfect one, which makes it more forgiving than a cone-shaped dripper without giving up detail in the cup. Unlike a cone dripper, the coffee bed sits at a uniform depth across the flat base, so water contacts the grounds evenly rather than pooling at a single point.

The 155 dripper pairs with Kalita's 300ml Wave server, and the 185 pairs with the 500ml server, for a matched brewing setup. Both sizes require Kalita's own wave-shaped filters — standard V60 or Melitta cone filters will not fit correctly.
