About Rocket
Rocket Espresso Milano builds its machines by hand in Milan, and its commercial range takes the brand's obsession with temperature stability and build quality onto the café floor. The R9 range sits at the top of that line-up, designed for specialty cafés where every shot is judged.
The Product
The Rocket R9 is a multi-boiler commercial machine designed by engineer Ennio Berti around one priority: temperature stability. Each group has its own 1.9L stainless steel brew boiler with PID control, adjustable in 0.1°C steps, feeding a fully saturated group. A 9L steam boiler controlled by a pressure transducer recovers steam pressure far faster than a traditional pressurestat — critical when milk orders stack up.
Because each group runs independently, you can set one group for your house espresso and the other for a light-roast single origin, without compromise. Rocket also lowered the machine's height so your baristas can see and talk to customers over the top — a small detail that changes how a bar feels.
Key Features
Independent 1.9L Brew Boilers (Per-Group Temperature)
Each group has its own PID-controlled stainless boiler, so you can run two coffees at two different temperatures side by side.
Fully Saturated Groups (Shot-to-Shot Stability)
Brew water stays at a consistent temperature right to the puck, even through back-to-back service.
Pressure Transducer Steam Control (Fast Recovery)
The 9L steam boiler recovers pressure quickly between jugs, keeping milk quality consistent at volume.
Automatic Volumetric Dosing with Shot Timers (Consistency Across Staff)
Programmed doses on each group and individual shot timers help every barista hit the same recipe.
Cool-Touch Steam Wands with Lever Valves (Safety and Speed)
Only the tip heats up, and lever-operated valves open and close in one movement.
Low-Profile Body (Customer Connection)
A lowered machine height keeps eye contact between barista and customer.
Who It's Built For
The R9 is for specialty cafés and high-quality hospitality venues where espresso is the product, not a side line — roasteries with a tasting bar, multi-origin cafés running a guest espresso, and busy coffee shops that need milk performance to hold up through a morning rush. If you want precise multi-boiler control without moving into pressure profiling, this is the R9 to choose. If you want full pressure profiling, see the R9V.
Buying and Installation Notes
The R9 2 Group draws 5.9kW and must be plumbed into a mains water line with drainage. It needs a dedicated electrical circuit installed by a qualified electrician, and we strongly recommend inline water filtration to protect the stainless boilers.
