About the Brand
Technivorm was founded in 1964 by Gerard Smit, a Dutch engineer who built the company on a simple philosophy — life is too short to drink bad coffee. In 1968 he designed the first Moccamaster, and it has been hand-assembled at the Technivorm factory in the Netherlands ever since, with every brewer tested against strict internal standards before it leaves the floor. The range is certified by both the European Coffee Brewing Centre (ECBC) and the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) for meeting the Golden Cup Standard — the industry benchmark for a correctly extracted cup.
The Product
The KBGT is Technivorm's thermal-jug batch brewer — the machine to reach for if your coffee needs to travel with you or simply outlast a single sitting. In place of the glass carafe, it pairs a stainless steel thermal jug with a glass inner bottle, so a full pot stays hot for hours instead of minutes.
It's built for anyone who wants their coffee hot on their terms, not the machine's.
Key Features
Stainless Steel Thermal Jug (Hours of Heat Retention)
A full jug holds at 80°C for up to three hours, and stays around 50°C after eight — hot coffee whether you're working indoors or heading out the door.
Copper Heating Element (Golden Cup Temperature)
A thermostat-controlled copper element brings water to 92–96°C, the window in which coffee extracts properly without turning sour or bitter.
Brew-Lock Safety Switch (Only Brews with the Jug in Place)
The brewing process only runs when the thermal jug is correctly seated, so there's no risk of water running through with nothing there to catch it.
Fast Full-Jug Brew (Six Minutes)
A full 1.25 L jug — around 10 cups — brews in about six minutes, so you're not standing around waiting on your coffee.
Repairable Build (Made to Outlast Its Warranty)
Hand-assembled from durable materials and backed by parts stocked for every model, so the machine is designed to be serviced for years rather than replaced.
Who It's Built For
The KBGT is built for you if you brew a full pot but don't drink it all in one sitting — home coffee drinkers who want their last cup as hot as their first, small offices without a hot plate on the go, and anyone who wants their coffee to travel without a flask changing its flavour. If it's leaving the kitchen with you, it should still be hot when it gets there.

Summary
The Moccamaster KBGT solves the one problem a glass-jug brewer can't — keeping the last cup as hot as the first. Backed by the same copper heating element and Golden Cup extraction as the rest of the Moccamaster range, and a company that's been perfecting this since 1964, it's built for coffee that needs to hold its heat.
