About the Brand
Timemore was founded in 2012 in China with a clear goal — to raise the standard for manual brewing equipment. By 2018 it was the best-selling manual coffee brand in China, and its grinders, scales, kettles and drippers are now sold in more than 80 countries. The Black Mirror scales are among its best known tools, found on home counters and café bars alike.
The Product
The Black Mirror Dot is Timemore's smallest, smartest scale — an 80mm square, 14mm-thin puck with no built-in display at all. Instead, it connects to the Timemore app over Bluetooth, where you see live weight, time and flow rate on your phone, and can follow, save and share brewing recipes.
Removing the screen is what makes it so small. It fits on a drip tray, under a portafilter or inside a travel kit where a conventional scale simply won't.
Key Features
Ultra-Compact Footprint (80 × 80 × 14 mm)
Small enough for cramped espresso drip trays and travel kits — around 50g on its own.
App-Based Display (Live Weight, Time and Flow Rate)
Your phone becomes the screen, with real-time brew data, a flow-rate graph and brew history so you can see exactly what happened in every cup.
Pour-Over and Espresso Modes (One Scale, Both Methods)
Dedicated timer modes for filter and espresso, selected in the app.
Recipes and Coaching (Guided Brewing)
Build, save and share recipes, or follow guided Pro Recipes and Coffee Coach features as you brew.
0.1g Resolution (Precise Enough for Espresso)
Reads to 0.1g from 0.2g, up to 1.2kg.
Long Battery Life (Months Between Charges)
A 300mAh USB-C rechargeable battery rated for around 180 five-minute brews per charge.
Who It's Built For
The Dot is for brewers who value data and space — travellers who want a scale that disappears into a bag, espresso drinkers whose machine leaves no room for a full-size scale, and data-minded home baristas who want flow-rate tracking and recipe logging. It's at its best with single-cup brewers like the V60, AeroPress and portable espresso makers. Note that it needs the app to function — if you want a scale you can glance at without your phone, choose the Black Mirror Basic instead.

Summary
The Black Mirror Dot puts full brew data — weight, time, flow rate and recipes — into a scale smaller than a coaster. If space is tight or you brew on the move, this is the scale that actually fits. Small on the counter, big on information.
