About the Brand
AeroPress began life in 1984 as Aerobie, Inc., founded by retired Stanford engineering lecturer and prolific inventor Alan Adler — the same engineer behind the Aerobie flying ring, which still holds the Guinness World Record for farthest thrown object.
In 2005, after a year spent chasing one goal — a genuinely superior cup of coffee — Adler launched the AeroPress. It's now sold in over 80 countries and sits at the centre of the World AeroPress Championship, where brewers from more than 60 countries compete on their own recipes.
Every AeroPress is still designed in Silicon Valley and manufactured in the USA, built on the same immersion-and-pressure principle that made the original a category of its own.
The Product
The AeroPress Clear is the same patented immersion-and-pressure brewer as the Original, built instead from crystal-clear, shatterproof Tritan™ so you can watch the brew happen rather than take it on faith. It delivers the identical clean, grit-free cup — the material changes, the brewing technology doesn't.
It's built for anyone who wants their brewer to look as considered as the coffee it makes. This is the AeroPress redesigned for the counter, not just the cupboard.
Key Features
Crystal-Clear Tritan™ Build (See the Brew Happen)
Tritan™ is shatterproof and BPA-free, letting you watch the coffee steep and press without sacrificing the chamber's toughness.
Immersion & Pressure Brewing (Full Flavour, No Bitterness)
Coffee steeps directly in the water before you press it through, extracting more flavour than a drip filter while the short brew time avoids over-extraction.
Paper Micro-Filter System (Grit-Free Cup)
Each micro-filter blocks fines and sediment that a metal mesh press lets through, so every cup pours clean.
Full Dishwasher-Safe Build (Easy Cleanup)
Unlike the standard polypropylene AeroPress, the Clear is dishwasher safe on both the top and bottom rack.
Two-Minute Brew Time (Speed Without Compromise)
From grounds to cup in well under a minute of actual brewing, with cleanup just as fast.
Compact, No-Electricity Design (Brew Anywhere)
No cord, no boiler — just add hot water, so it travels as easily as it sits on display.
Who It's Built For
The AeroPress Clear is built for coffee lovers who want their gear to look as good on the counter as it performs in the cup — and for anyone who's ever wondered exactly what's happening inside an AeroPress mid-brew. It's the same brewer the Original is, just with nowhere to hide.
Same technology, nothing left to imagine — brew in full view.

How to Use It, Step by Step
- Place a rinsed paper filter in the cap and twist it onto the chamber.
- Set the chamber on a sturdy mug, add coffee, then pour 200–240ml of hot water.
- Stir gently for 10 seconds.
- Insert the plunger and press down slowly for 25–30 seconds.
- Stop when you hear the hiss.
- Assemble the AeroPress upside down with the plunger inserted slightly.
- Add coffee grounds, then pour your water.
- Stir, cap with a wet filter, and steep for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Carefully flip onto your mug and press steadily.
Care tip from our distributor
To extend rubber seal life, always store the plunger either fully pushed through the chamber or completely separated from it. Leaving it mid-chamber compresses the seal and degrades pressure performance over time.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the AeroPress Clear and how does it differ from the original?
It features a transparent Tritan chamber instead of an opaque body, letting you watch the bloom, monitor extraction, and time your plunge. It keeps the same lightweight, pressure-driven system and 240ml capacity, so it stays fully compatible with World AeroPress Championship recipes.
What material is the AeroPress Clear made from?
BPA-free, shatter-resistant Tritan plastic. The chamber is durable, dishwasher-safe, and thermally resistant up to approximately 100°C.
Can you use the inverted brewing method?
Yes. The inverted method delivers a fuller body, ideal for darker South African roasts. Assemble it upside down with the plunger inserted slightly, add grounds and water, stir, cap with a wet filter, steep for 1–2 minutes, then flip and press steadily.
What is the price in South Africa?
The AeroPress Clear typically costs between R1,200 and R1,500 through authorised retailers like Buna Coffee. This is competitive against grey imports and includes warranty, local support, and genuine stock.
How should you store the plunger to maintain seal quality?
Always store the plunger either fully pushed through the chamber or completely separated from it. Leaving it mid-chamber compresses the rubber seal and degrades pressure performance over time.
